Hello and welcome to the Collins Lab at Texas Tech. We are a team of aquatic ecologists who study streams, rivers, lakes, and urban wetlands.
Our work focuses on an array of topics including food web linkages between aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, conservation of threatened fishes, plastic contaminants in urban freshwater’s, and urban recreational fisheries. To uncover the underlying ecological mechanisms that shape natures structure and function, and to identify effective management approaches, my colleagues and I use an integrative approach that combines community- and ecosystem-level measurements, manipulative & field experiments, and modeling tools.
If you are interested in graduate school, obtaining research experience, or would like a PDF of my papers, please send a message to scott.collins ( at ) ttu.edu.
